Make Martin Hill Inn your home base while you experience all that Portsmouth, New Hampshire has to offer; sights, activities and hometown hospitality. We will be happy to help you plan your activities, discuss restaurants, organize day trips, or recommend areas and points of interest for you to visit. Our accommodations are conveniently located just a 10-15 minute walk into downtown Portsmouth. After a day spent exploring the area, take some time to relax in the inn’s lovely perennial gardens. Make plans for dinner at one of Portsmouth’s many wonderful restaurants, while sitting by the water garden and enjoying the peaceful sounds of running water.

Forms of Payment: Deposits can be made with MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, or personal checks. We also accept Portsmouth a la Carte gift cards. Sorry, we do not accept gift cards from Bed & Breakfast.com or BNBFinder.com.
Concierge Service: The Inn staff is happy to help you with restaurant reservations, local activities, and sightseeing tips.

Check-In: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please proceed to the parking lot on arrival. To schedule a check in later than 6 p.m., please let us know in advance, so that we can provide instructions on how to locate the late self-check-in box. If you are delayed by traffic, please call us so that we can arrange your late check in, if needed. Should you arrive early, you are welcome to park in our private parking lot take a map from the map box, and stroll Downtown.
Check-Out: by 11:00 a.m.
Refunds: When you book a room with us, we make a commitment to you. Unlike hotels, we do not overbook. The Inn will make a full refund of deposit, less a $20 processing fee, if the cancellation is made with a minimum 14 days’ advance notice.
If a full or partial cancellation is made with less than 14 days’ notice, the deposit will be returned (less the $25 fee) if the inn can re-book the room for the period canceled. If the room is cannot be re-booked, the deposit for the reservation shall not be returned. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours before the scheduled check in, the guest is responsible for full payment of the reservation, less any nights that the inn successfully re-books the rooms reserved.
Pets & Smoking: We’re sorry but we cannot accommodate pets at the Inn – regardless of how little they weigh. We are a non-smoking inn inside and around the buildings. You are welcome to smoke in our parking lot.
Room Occupancy: One person or two people only per room. Our maximum occupancy dictates that we are unable to allow more than two people per room. Children age 12 and over are welcome. We are unable to accommodate children under 12 and this includes babies.
Minimum Stay: Minimum night stays may apply to all our guest rooms. Rates are subject to change and can be found through the Check Availability function at the top of this page.
