Ranger was one of the most well known of the ships built in Portsmouth Harbor. She was a 20-gun frigate commanded by John Paul Jones, known as the founder of the U.S. Navy. In Ranger, Jones scoured the English and Irish coasts during the Revolutionary War. In 1778 Ranger became the first US ship recognized by a foreign power.

This room retains its original pine wood floors, from 1820. During your stay, catch up on a favorite show on the flat-screen TV, or relax on the Sheraton-style loveseat or wingback chair and enjoy a good book. The private en-suite bath features a full shower unit.
