Almost everyone has seen the Frank Capra movie “It’s A Wonderful Life” but you have probably never seen the tale told in such a unique way as portrayed by Pontine Theatre in Portsmouth, NH. Under the creative direction of Marguerite Matthews and Greg Gathers, this delightful story is told through a whole new media.
Actually, the media is quite mixed and includes a blend of wooden puppets, live actors, seasonal music and paper masks. The big screen is replaced by a simple table-top. The original movie theater and then the television screen are replaced by an intimate theater setting where the audience is just yards from the action.
Joining the program will be Meredith Eib and Mike Dunbar performing the holiday music. As always, the
lobby hosts post-performance discussion with cookies and eggnog.
This performance will run from December 14th to 16th, 2012. Show times are Friday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 4:00 and 8:00 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
