22nd Annual WHEB Chili Cook-Off is one of the stand-out festival events of the fall in Portsmouth, NH. Presented on Saturday October 8, 2011 by Prescott Park in conjunction with Strawbery Banke Museum’s Fall Festival, the event starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until the chili is gone! We encourage guests of our Portsmouth bed and breakfast to arrive early.
On the grounds of Strawbery Banke Museum, dozens of colorful booths and the fragrance of cooking chili attract lines of locals and travelers, from near and far, to sample the best chili chefs have to offer. For the beer lovers, bowls of chili and cornbread can be accompanied by local Red Hook Beer. Restaurants compete for Most Popular Chili, Critics Choice Chili and Best Booth. Everyone gets to vote and compare their favorites.
When you have had your fill of chili, wander over to the Museum’s Fall Festival to see handcrafts for sale and demonstrations of weaving, coopering, food preserving, open hearth cooking and farm animal exhibits.

One ticket covers both events and costs just $15 for adults, $6 for children.
